Hello all. New member here. I have had my stryker for about two months now and a little over 1800 miles on it and I am really enjoying it. I do have a question about top speed. Me and a friend from work went for a little ride yesterday and noticed that I could not go over 108 or 109 mph. Has anyone else experienced this? And before you ask, yes I was in 5th gear lol. Thanks in advance for any responses.
The more I think about the more I doubt I was in 5th gear.. Well I guess I at least learned what my topspeed in 4th is.

You have to remember that with the 210 tire your speedo are off.
Use a gps for an accurate reading. I know some others here have
noticed the speedo is off.

Sorry Skyshark, but I'm betting with you that you were only in 4th gear also. If not used to that speed, nerves will make you miss things aka-Gear LOL.

I did a little test tonight. I hit 190kph (speedo reading) 171.8kph (GPS reading). There was still some rpms left. Will try again soon.
Thats 118mph and 106.7mph respectively.

yeah, I figured that would be the case.....if you go to a bigger
tire it may true up the speedo

Guys by going with the bigger tired in the back what would be lost in performance?? Is it really worth it?

Maybe on your launch. The overall handling and ride of these tires
outweigh the performance loss of the bike.

Its actually a "sliding scale." The faster you go the more off it becomes.
60kph on speedo = 60kph
100=95
120=111
140=128
.
.
190=172

I hit just over 125mph indicated. A 10% error rate would put that around 112mph.

Maybe one of these days the 17 year old in me will hit and I will give mine a try. I got the 240 tire.
